EMS Cadets

The EMS Cadet program is aimed at young people who want to explore career options by trying them on for size... all while providing a valuable service to their peers and the community.

EMS Cadet Program

Learn more about a career in health care, all while you ride along with Alberta Health Services EMS personnel as they respond to various emergency calls. Cadets must be 14-17 years of age and no prior experience is necessary.

EMS Cadets will:

  • Get a first-hand look at health care careers, such as EMS, medicine and nursing
  • Receive First Aid training
  • Participate in public activities and events
  • Earn work experience credits

In the EMS Cadet program, participants receive training in:

  • Standard First Aid
  • Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation
  • Automated External Defibrillation
  • Oxygen Administration
