EMS Cadets 

Our EMS Cadet program is aimed at young people who want to explore career options by trying them on for size... all while providing a valuable service to their peers and the community.

Learn more about a career in health care, all while you ride along with Alberta Health Services EMS personnel as they respond to various emergency calls. Cadets must be 14-17 years of age and no prior experience is necessary.

As a Cadet you will :

  • Get a first-hand look at health care careers  such as EMS , medicine and nursing
  • Advanced First Aid Training including CPR , AED and Oxygen Administration.
  • Provide medical standby with Paramedics at public events
  • Earn work experience credits for high school graduation

High School First Responders

Our High School First Responder program is aimed at young people who want to explore career options by trying them on for size...all while providing a valuable service to their peers and the community.

As a High School First Responder you are the first on the scene lending assistance and applying First Aid to your fellow students before the ambulance arrives.

In the High School First Responder program, participants receive training in:

  • Standard First Aid
  • Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation
  • Automated External Defibrillation
  • Oxygen Administration
