'Star of Life' Golf Classic
Since 1999 Randy, Debby and Nikki Waldron along with friends and family, honour the memory of Shawn – son, brother, nephew, grandson and friend – by supporting the ‘Star of Life’ Golf Classic in memory of Shawn Waldron
Hosted each September by the Regional EMS Foundation, proceeds from this popular golf tournament benefit the work of Alberta Health Services EMS
Without the 10 year support the Regional EMS Foundation received from the Waldron Family and the commitment of the community to support this tournament each year the dream of creating a province wide Public Access Defibrillation program would not have been a reality . The Waldron family mission for the Regional EMS Foundation was that no one should ever experience the loss that they did . Their goal was to educate the public about sudden cardiac arrest , teach CPR and place AED’s ( Automatic External Defibrillators ). The program now adopted and funded by Alberta Health Services is a provincially run program called Heart Safe Community ( see PAD – Public Access Defibrillation under programs tab) .We are proud of its success and are thankful for its inception here in Grande Prairie.

On Site is not new to the tournament and has been a dedicated sponsor and golfer(s) over the last decade. On Site Advanced Medical Services provides a variety of medical services to the oil and gas industry.
